Allentsteig The plant is located in the heavily forested area of Austria called Waldviertel. Situated near the town of Allentsteig and close to a military training ground, it will supply electricity to the national grid and heat to the town and living quarters of the training ground through the district heating grid operated by Fernwärmegenossenschaft Allentsteig.
Gresten The plant is located in the region called Eisenwurzen in Lower Austria. Situated at the edge of the town of Gresten, it is an excellent example of a decentralized energy source, supplying heat to some of Gresten’s 2000 inhabitants and 2 MW of electricity to the national grid. The plant has excellent access to county roads.
Aschach The plant is located near a lock on the river Danube, north-west of Linz in Upper Austria . Nudged on the river bank near the river’s hydro plant (Donaukraftwerk) it is another excellent example of a decentralized energy source, supplying heat to some of Aschach’s 2,200 inhabitants and 2 MW of electricity to the national grid.
Gaishorn The biomass power plant in Gaishorn is located in Styria, one of the best wooded regions in Austria. The 21 megawatt plant is situated directly next to the premises of two long term heat buyers. One of them is Mayr-Melnhof Systemholz GmbH, who is also an important raw material supplier. The products of the Gaishorn biomass power plant are bio power, heat, steam and pellets.
