Our plant Aschach
The 2.0 MWel / 5.6 MWth biomass CHP plant is situated to the west of the Upper Austrian municipality of Aschach, in the direct vicinity of the River Danube. The plant was built and put into operation in 2006. The electricity generated, amounting to about 16,000 MWh a year, is fed into the local power grid. Our CHP plant also supplies the municipalities of Aschach and Hartkirchen with heat amounting to more than 23,000 MWh a year, via a 34-km closed-loop district heating network operated by Energie AG. To back up the district heating network at peak times we also have at our disposal two more biomass boilers, a gas boiler and a heat pump with an aggregate thermal output of more than 8 MW.
A comprehensive raw material concept based on trusting, sustainable collaboration with local forest companies and suppliers, plus optional delivery by ship, ensures long-term supplies of fuel to the site. In close collaboration with our customers we are constantly working on new solutions and expanding the existing solutions in the field of decentralised energy supply on a local basis.
