The 2.0 MWel / 5.6 MWth biomass CHP plant is located in municipality of Aschach on the banks of the Danube River. The plant was built and commissioned in 2006. The electricity generated, amounting to about 10,000 MWh a year, is fed into the grid. Our CHP plant also supplies the municipalities of Aschach and Hartkirchen with more than 20,000 MWh of heat a year via a 34 km-long, closed-loop district heat grid. To secure constant heat supplies to the district heat grid also at peak times, we count with two additional biomass boilers, a gas boiler and a heat pump with a total thermal output of more than 8 MW.
